Read the contract for possible extra fees.

A move can be local or long distance and how the cost is calculated is different. Pricing for both types of moves include fuel costs, and mileage. Basically, a local move’s prices are figured by the number of movers needed and the time it will take to move the items. Long distance estimates are based mostly on weight
Your estimate will be based on are you packing or are the movers packing. the number of items, types of items, or you will do some and they will pack others. How well do you want your goods protected for the move has to be addressed. If you have furniture, do you want them wrapped in blankets and do you want your dishes individually protected in the boxes.
For a long-distance move, get a binding-not-to-exceed estimate. This means you do not have to pay if the overall weight is higher, but you will pay less if the overall weight is lower. For local moves, read the contract for possible extra fees.
When you move and how early you schedule your move affects the price. Summers are always busy and most reputable movers’ calendars fill up. If you can move in the winter or fall that is usually the best time for your budget.
